Okay, I admit it, that title is a bit misleading, but hey -- I was singing and Chris Martin was singing, at the same time, during last night's Mylo Xyloto Coldplay concert, at the Hollywood Bowl in L.A. And in my book, when you get it recorded on video, that's a duet! So at the very least, I will refer to 'our' performance as my 'unintended' duet with Chris Martin, LIVE! So, listen carefully at the beginning of the video, and yes, that is me singing along. I didn't even think, with all the noise going on around me, that my voice would get picked up in the recording. But it did.
It was a great up close and personal moment, during the Coldplay concert, when Chris Martin, eventually joined by the entire band, came up into the audience, right where we just happened to be sitting, and sang a few of my very favorite songs -- definite crowd pleaser.

Us Against the World
For those who have followed me online, for more than a few years, you know I love Coldplay. I don't do concerts, in general, but when Coldplay is in town I make an extra effort to grab tickets. We won't go there.
Anyway, last night my DH, and I, went with one of my daughters and her husband to the Coldplay concert. This really helps bridge the generation gap -- when you do concerts with your kids. But seriously, every once in a while it's very healthy behavior to let your inner teenager out -- especially at my age. I knew 'she' was out when I found myself standing on the bench, singing and shooting video! And yes, hooting and hollering, too. Fear not though, I will resume my usual state of mind... soon.

But before I do, I'll share the other video I shot, up close and personal, after the other. Enjoy!

And for a little added fun, and to assure you that I have mellowed out, a bit, you can read a concert review I wrote, here, about Coldplay's last concert tour. This little blog post is nothing compared to that write up! See, I am s l o w l y growing up.

Mormon Helping Hands: Feeding the Hungry
Meet Alice. I first noticed her, from a distance, behind the lens of my camera. The light in her eyes immediately caught my attention. I couldn't resist taking her picture. When she noticed me, she was initially embarrassed, and explained that she was too old and no longer considered beautiful. I expressed my feelings about the light that I saw in her eyes and how that, to me, is true beauty. Oh what a wonderful visit we then had.
Now More than EVER We Need Living Prophets
Among other issues, last week's blog post has brought into crystal clear focus the need for living prophets - today, more than ever before! Incredibly The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) boldly declares, to the world, that a young boy, named Joseph Smith, was called of God to restore ancient Christianity, as established while Jesus Christ, Himself, was upon the earth. And today, by succession, the Church continues to function under the direction of President Thomas S. Monson, whom its members sustain as a prophet, seer and revelator. Mind you, this is no small matter -- and its importance must be acknowledged in the face of much confusion and controversy that surround us daily.

You are the coolest Nana I know.
ReplyDeleteOnly time will tell, Laurie. We'll have to see if my grandkids will let me tag along to concerts with them, in a few years. ; )
Deletewell, you are a cool granny! I had better get my groove on better.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Well, there's nothing like a great concert to assist one's "groove". ; )
