Bees Are Good Luck - Really!

The actual swarming of the BEES, that came to visit me - was really quite a brief encounter. Before I knew it, the BEES began to settle into a bush/tree that is set right behind our rod iron fence, and again - outside of my upstairs bedroom window. I decided that I would once again, photo-journal the event. I grabbed my Olympus camera, put on my telephoto lens and like the coward that I am, shot a picture of the swarm of bees, through the window.

It became imperative, that I find something positive about having to experience "my" MASSIVE BEE SWARM; lest I have nightmares! So, I decided to Google BEES and the word LUCK. Here is some fun BEE-LORE, that has made me feel a lot more comfortable with my very busy buzzing visitors. In fact, I'm actually feeling a lot better now... kind of.

Bees

If a bee enters your home, it's a sign that you will soon have a visitor. If you kill the bee, you will have bad luck, or the visitor will be unpleasant.

Bees have often been regarded as wise and even holy insects, having foreknowledge as well as knowledge of many secret matters. In antiquity they were sometimes divine messengers, and their constant humming was believed to be a hymn of praise. Because of their status it is still considered unlucky in some places to kill a bee. If a bee flies into the house it is a sign of great good luck, or of the arrival of a stranger; however, the luck will only hold if the bee is allowed to either stay or to fly out of the house of its own accord.

A bee landing on someone's hand is believed to foretell money to come, while if the bee settles on someone's head it means that person will rise to greatness. They were once considered to deliberately sting those who swore in front of them, and also to attack an adulterer or unchaste person; it was once held to be a sure sign that a girl was a virgin if she could walk through a swarm of bees without being stung.

Now, if for some reason MY BEES decide to give an encore performance, I will know exactly what to do, to make the MOST out of the situation.

  4. Hello,

I saw your Blog and thought you’d be interested in this video I made of a bee swarm capture last week with my friend Kerry:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGN3PoG0ih8&fmt=22

He’s taking the bees back to his place to start a new hive, and we made this instructional hi-def video. I thought your Blog readers might enjoy it so thought I’d offer it to you to share with them!

    Hope you enjoy it.

  5. Hi everyone my name is iegsaan. I love what you wrote about the Bees even thou I don't believe in any of it. My own belief is that the people of the past didn't have the knowledge and understanding we have today and came up with these ideas to tell the future. What I dislike about that is that it slowly takes you away from true belief in God. It slowly eats away at that truth and it starts you off on the road to superstition. The more superstitious we become the less we belief in the true power of God for only God knows the future and no matter what people try and tell you about possible outcomes of the future it does not exist because that is what is God's way of teaching us that no one is in control except Him. So praise God and be happy and leave superstition for the devil people. Hope I did not offend anyone with my comment. Thank you

  6. Everywhere I go, a bee comes to me. Three occasions now. Once I was having lunch with my husband and a bee came my side,IT kept fly into the sliding, i think it wanted to go outside, then i grab it with a serviette and released it on the other side outside. The 2nd time i had just come back from being interviewed, a bee came to my left hand and sat on my finger, while i was outside waiting for my lift. The 3rd time again having lunch and a bee came to our table, landed on the rim of my coffee cup...hmmm, is this just a coincidence?
